We are a SDVOB, under the leadership of Randy Pickering, and Traci Gervase.

Randy Pickering enlisted in the United States Army in 1984 as an 11B Infantry Soldier. During Basic Training, he was selected to serve with the prestigious 3rd US Infantry Regiment, “The Old Guard of the Army,” the Army’s official ceremonial unit stationed in Washington, D.C., during President Reagan's second term. In this capacity, Mr. Pickering participated in numerous ceremonies at the White House, Pentagon, and Arlington National Cemetery.

Following his assignment in Washington, D.C., Mr. Pickering attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where he studied Russian and transitioned his specialty to 98G, Signal Intercept Operator. Upon completing his training, he was deployed to Frankfurt, Germany, and served with the 533rd Military Intelligence Battalion of the 3rd Armored Division. With this unit, he participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Post-conflict, Mr. Pickering was assigned to a Military Intelligence unit in San Antonio before being redeployed to Germany. While stationed in Garmisch, he worked at the George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies, utilizing his Russian language skills to assist students from former Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact countries.

Mr. Pickering subsequently returned to San Antonio, serving with the Quick Fix Platoon, which specialized in electronic surveillance using EH60 “Blackhawk” helicopters. He concluded his distinguished military career as a Master Sergeant (MSG) in the 649th Military Intelligence Battalion.
